Stress is a natural reaction to scary events, whether real or imagined. Too much of it, and your mind and body can end up in a state of perpetual tension, eventually leading to wear and tear on your quality of life and even physical and mental illness. Not being able to switch off the panic button can reduce life to a happy-free state, with the mental focus on always waiting for something ‘bad’ to happen.
What if you could help yourself with some simple self-love?
I believe one of the root causes of chronic stress is that you were never allowed to simply be happy as a child. You may have been given lots of reasons to worry and stress. Dangerous streets, dangerous traffic. Menacing strangers. The neighbours. The financial cost of everything…..the fears of the adults around you, the gloom and doom of the daily news bulletins – it’s enough to sow the seed of chronic anxiety.
So balance things up now: start with a daily practice of giving yourself permission to be happy.
Make a commitment to work yourself free from being pushed around by the internal struggles that excess stress creates:-
Do something for yourself that no-one else may ever, ever have done for you. Stress relief is a practice and a process, not a pill, so dwell on these words from Miguel Ruiz:-
“You have permission to be happy and to really enjoy your life. You are no longer responsible for anyone’s opinion. You have no need to control anyone, and no one controls you either … You don’t need to be right and you don’t need to make anyone else wrong … you are no longer afraid of being rejected, and you don’t have the need to be accepted … you can walk into the world with your heart completely open, and not be afraid to be hurt.” ~ Miguel Ruiz ~
Become happy and experience success, your triumph over stress.
